In case you need a refresher, the last time we left the group they were in the middle of traveling to the past via Number Five's distinct abilities. There, their plan was to stop the Apocalypse set in motion during the last episode of season one.

The first series of The UImbrella Academy debuted on February 15th of last year. On April 2nd, it was announced that the show would be renewed for a second season. Production on this season began in June of 2019 and ended in November; suggesting that the next installment would debut in early 2020.

Today's unexpected release of these posters certainly hints at a near-future release for Netflix. We can only hope that an official release date from the streaming giant is coming soon.

This weekend is our first convention on the schedule - CONsole Room up in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

CONsole Room is centered solely around Doctor Who and all the aspects of fandom that go with it. It features guests, an art show, painting class, cosplay workshops, fan participation panels, and more. 

You can find CONsole Room at the Hilton MSP Airport/Mall of America Hotel during the weekend of January 17th. If you go, you're surely in for a Whovian good time!

Gallifrey One - the largest Doctor Who convention in the U.S. - really snuck up on our team this year! This convention is always packed with fabulous guests, a myriad of programming, and events that go late into the night. The headlining guest for 2020 is Ninth Doctor, Christopher Eccleston. How can you resist that?

If you're heading out to Gally this year, you can expect a large presence from us in the Dealers Room (as usual). This includes our massive Big Finish audios set-up. This year, you'll be able to get free digital downloads with all of your CD purchases. How could you pass that up?

We could never miss C2E2! Entering its 11th year, we have witnessed this convention from start up to its current explosion of programming, A-list guests, selection of vendors, and artists - this con is too big to name all the things we love about it!

Our booth placement for this show will be coming soon. We'll be updating it here once we know. We'll also have  Chicago TARDIS centered giveaways (and maybe even a meetup) like usual.

Planet Comic Con has never disappointed us in the four years we've been attending this convention. Attendees are always happy to see us, and their guest list is always impressive. This year, they're touting Ninth Doctor, Christopher Eccleston, as their headliner!

Booth placement for this convention will also be coming soon. We were in a great, centralized location last year, so we're crossing our fingers for a similar set-up.

We've been attending AwesomeCon since the convention's second year, and it's an event we look forward to every spring. Not only do they consistently invite amazing guests, have unique night programming, and fabulous vendors, but they also invite Washington, D.C. locals such as the Smithsonian museums and NASA to be featured on their show floor. As science nerds, we are never underwhelmed by their representation or presentation!

Tony Curran

Scottish born actor Tony Curran began his career with appearances in British productions Being Human, starring Robin Williams and Shallow Grave, the directorial debut of Academy Award winner Danny Boyle. Following those roles, Curran rose to fame in the BBC television series This Life as the character Lenny.

After establishing himself as a notable television star, Curran began appearing in high profile film roles including The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen alongside screen legend Sean Connery.

As The Invisible Man, Curran needed to wear a blue screen suit that covered him from head to toe in order to achieve the extraordinary effects seen in the film. Genre fans will also recognize Curran from his roles as vampire in Guillermo del Toro’s Blade IIas Priest and Underworld: Evolution as Marcus.

Doctor Who fans fondly remember Curran for his portrayal of the painter Vincent van Gogh, in the Doctor Who episode “Vincent and the Doctor”, written by Richard Curtis. Although appearing in only one episode as the artist, Curran’s performance endeared him to the loyal Doctor Whofan base. Eagle eyed fans will also recall Curran’s cameo appearance in the episode “The Pandorica Opens”.

In 2011, Curran appeared as Lieutenant Delcourt, in Steven Spielberg’s entirely CG production of The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn and also voiced the character of Captain MacMillan in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

In 2013, Curran appeared in the hit sequel Thor: The Dark World and since then has made appearances in Sons of Anarchy as well as in the SyFy series Defiance as the character Datak Tarr. Other film roles include Gladiator, The 13th Warrior and Boardwalk Empire.

Most recently, Tony can be seen alongside Chris Pine in the Netflix original movie Outlaw King.

Rosie Jane

Rosie Jane played companion Bill Potts’ mother in the tenth series of Doctor Who.

Before this, she made her Doctor Who debut as a member of the High Council in 2013’s 50th Anniversary special The Day of the Doctor.

Richard Ashton

Best known for roles in the TV shows The New Adventures of Robin Hood and Vikings, and the movie The Fifth Element, Richard Ashton is familiar to Doctor Who fans in his role as Friday in the Twelfth Doctor era episode "Empress of Mars".

He has also had many other roles on both the big and small screens - working on projects since 1990.

Jon Davey

Jon has featured in 42 episodes to date of Doctor Who over the past 12 years as various monsters that include: Dalek, Cyberman, Ood, Jadoon, Whisperman and Unit Soldier. He has also performed and assisted with choreography in Doctor Who Live in 2010, Doctor Who Proms 2013 and The Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular in Australia 2014/2015 and the UK in 2015.

He has also featured in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures, Merlin, Wizard v Aliens, Casualty, and Atlantis in various roles.

His other work includes being a DOP, camera operator and still photographer. He has worked on projects for Big Brother, X Factor, Robbie Williams, Samsung and MTV. Jon has also worked on over 50 music video for bands such as Radiohead, Scissor Sisters, Seasick Steve, Run The Jewels, Mc Fly, Offspring and Kula Shaker. In 2011 he worked as a lighting Cameraman on a animated sequence for the Simon Pegg movie A Fantastic Fear of Everything.

Star Wars Adventures

This title is especially exciting because it follows hot on the heels of Star Wars Day 2018.

In this all-new story set before Star Wars: A New Hope, feared bounty hunters Zuckuss and 4-LOM finally have two of the biggest scoundrels in the galaxy in their sights!  This comic features famed Star Wars characters Han Solo and Chewbacca.  

One can also speculate that this title serves to highlight Solo in preparation for the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story - set to premiere at the end of the month.

Zero's Journey

This serves as a FCBD outlier, but fans of Nightmare Before Christmas will clearly appreciate this release.

When Jack Skellington's faithful pet Zero gets lost, the ghost pup must get the help of the residents of Christmas Town to find his way back. With Halloween plans on hold while Jack mounts a search, will they be reunited in time to save both holidays?

Our store will be open from 12:00 - 7:00pm tomorrow, and is located at 702 S. Main St. in Lombard.  If you're local, please stop in and pick up your free comic books!  

As you can see, the staging of this announcement starts so naturally. RDJ simply asks to see the premiere just a little earlier, and the Marvel Twitter account comes back by involving a few more stars of the anticipated film. You know, just to build up the hype all the more.

The Twitter thread then ends with RDJ asking if Marvel can gift this new release date to the whole world. They oblige, and immediately share the movie poster with updated release date.

The Twitter announcement lead fans to immediately speculate about the development, even going so far to doubt that it was too good to be true. It has officially been confirmed that the release date will be April 27^th everywhere – just as the poster promises.  If you're curious you can go to the Marvel Studios Twitter account to see the reactions yourself.

As Marvel fans rejoice about being allowed to view Infinity War that much earlier, we have to give major kudos to Marvel Studios on their genius way of making this announcement to the world.
